Special Announcement DOJABA Volunteers Needed for DOJ Legal Intern Career Information Fair

DOJABA has been invited to participate in OARM’s virtual DOJ Legal Intern Career Information Fair this Wednesday, July 14, 2021.  Please read the invitation below.  This is a great opportunity to speak with law students about the work that you do and answer some of their questions!  We need at least three volunteers.  If you have an hour to spare, please consider volunteering for one of the hour shifts.  The career fair is from 1-4pm.  If you are available, please contact DOJABA Attorney Recruitment & Professional Development Co-Chair, Shanik Butler, at Shaniqua.Butler@usdoj.gov by Tuesday 7/3 at 10 am.

Good Morning:

I hope you are having a good summer! I am reaching out to invite you to participate in OARM’s virtual DOJ Legal Intern Career Information Fair next Wednesday, July 14, from 1 – 4:00 PM ET. The Career Fair is an opportunity for DOJ’s volunteer legal interns and Summer Law Interns to meet with representatives from various DOJ organizations and components and learn more about their work.

The Career Fair will be a live event via Zoom – analogous to a “Virtual Table Talk”. Similar to our in-person career fair that we traditionally hold in the Great Hall, this will be a great opportunity to showcase your organization and share information with students who are eager to learn more about your work.

Program Specifics:

  • OARM will use Zoom for Government as the platform for the event.

  • In addition to participating components, we will have a couple of breakout rooms for employee organization representatives.

  • Please assign one representative for your organization per hour or one representative for the full three hours.

  • There will be 12, 15-minute sessions between 1:00 – 4:00 PM ET. The first session will start at the top of the hour, and new sessions begin every 15 minutes, accommodating the brief delays for the interns to switch breakout rooms.

  • In each session, reps can talk about their work and answer questions from interns. At the end of the 15 minute session, interns can stay in the breakout room or move to another breakout room. OARM will advise when it is time to switch breakout rooms.

  • Organization reps will be on camera in their respective breakout session and legal interns can ask questions on camera or through the chat feature. In addition, reps will have the ability to upload informational handouts in the breakout session chat log.
