DOJABA Coordinates with OIP’s Diversity Committee on Concrete Recommendations to DOJ Responsive to Executive Order on Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility in the Federal Workforce

In response to EO 14035 ( Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility in the Federal Workforce), OIP’s Diversity Committee, with input and support from DOJABA, prepared the attached list of recommendations to Assistant Attorney General for Administration Lee Lofthus suggesting concrete action items to ensure diversity and inclusion in recruitment, hiring, retention, mentoring, and advancement Department-wide. DOJABA previously presented its own set of DEI recommendations to the Department, accessible here. DOJABA is actively working to promote this collective set of recommendations to the Department. As the first affinity group created at the Department, it’s important for DOJABA to advocate for meaningful and sustainable Department-wide measures to recruit, retain, support, and otherwise enhance the work environment for Black attorneys and staff in the DOJ workforce. On a regular basis, DOJABA responds to invitations from DOJ components, affinity groups and DEI committees to collaborate on proposed policies, processes, and presentations designed to strengthen the Federal workforce by promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. If you are interested in assisting with these efforts, please contact DOJABA Chair, Oneshia Herring (Oneshia.Herring@usdoj.gov).
