DOJ Chief Diversity Officer Vacancy – Results of DOJABA Advocacy

DOJ recently posted a vacancy announcement for the position of Chief Diversity Officer (GS 15-301). The Chief Diversity Officer will also serve as a Co-Chair for the Diversity Management Advisory Council. This posting comes after months of advocacy by DOJABA, urging Department leadership to (1) install a Chief Diversity Officer to centralize and prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) issues; and (2) reinstitute the Department’s Diversity Management Advisory Council to coordinate Department-wide diversity management. DOJABA’s advocacy efforts are reflected in the letter DOJABA, along with other Department affinity groups, sent to the Biden-Harris transition team; the letters DOJABA sent to Attorney General Merrick Garland and Justice Management Division leadership; and DOJABA’s Recommendations on Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Measures. This is a very exciting development! We encourage interested members to apply and all members to share widely.

The application period closes on Friday, August 27, 2021. Please see below for links to the vacancy announcement.
