DOJABA Safe Space Session: Being Black and Female at DOJ

On Thursday, March 18 at 5 pm grab a drink, let your hair down, and join DOJ’s Association of Black Attorneys (DOJABA) for some real talk on being Black and female in the Department.  Several articles have discussed the experiences of Black women in law firms, academia, and the corporate world.  (https://zora.medium.com/when-black-women-go-from-office-pet-to-office-threat-83bde710332e; https://www.25bwb.org/post/black-women-have-been-traumatized-in-the-workplace; https://www.dispatch.com/in-depth/news/2020/12/03/ohio-black-women-corporate-racism-sexism/3635647001/; https://hbr.org/2021/02/stop-telling-women-they-have-imposter-syndrome)

How many of these issues apply to us? What has your experience been like at DOJ? How can we support each other and bring our own Black girl magic to our work?

If you want to join the Zoom conversation, please contact Davené Walker, davene.walker@usdoj.gov.
